The hand of God!
Zechariah shares of the strong hand of God. Over the course of history Israel has survived many attacks. He writes, "In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord before them." Zech 12:8
As Israel was becoming a recognized nation they were attacked by Egypt, Jordan, and Syria at the same time. There are many documented stories of miraculous events happening in Israel's victory. Much like the land of Israel being protected Jesus spoke of similar protection of His bride, the church. Zechariah speaks of Jesus and the pouring out of His grace in verse 10.
Now, our salvation is protected in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Jesus says, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand." John 10:27-28
Take heart! No matter what you may be enduring or will endure as Israel stands today so will the children of God always stand. We aren't promised a life with no problems, but we were promised peace in Jesus!
