Zechariah prophesied at the same time as Haggai. He adds details to the Lord's heart for His people. Over the course of the next few chapters we will read multiple visions during the same night the Lord gave Zechariah.

Zechariah confirms the encouragement of Haggai to those in Jerusalem. "Therefore thus says the Lord, "I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it," declares the Lord of hosts, "and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem." ' Again, proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, "My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem." ' "" Zech 1:16-17

Zechariah speaks a word of restoration over the people. Zechariah prefaced this word (v4-6) with the truth of Israel's earlier sins. And writes, "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Return to Me," declares the Lord of hosts, "that I may return to you," says the Lord of hosts." Zech 1:3

That's the Father's heart for us all. The question is will we step into James 4:7-8? When we do we are more aware of the Father's presence, and His presence in our lives is powerful indeed.
