Finishing with the final chapter of the Song of Solomon we’ve allowed the Spirit to challenge us with,

-Complementing our spouse on a daily basis,

-Being vulnerable with our spouse,

-Continuing to pursue our spouse; continuing to date each other,

-Having intimacy in our friendship with our spouse,

-Speaking and responding well to our spouse during conflicting times,

-Making our spouse the image of our affection and attraction, and

-Enjoying the gift from the Lord of sexual relations with our spouse.

Lastly, remember this all happens because of the love we share with each other. We see from this chapter the description of unconditional love. “Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised.” Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Our love is a seal on the heart, it’s as strong as death, love is like a raging fire, and love cannot be bought or sold, it’s something to be appreciated. The love you have in your heart for your spouse is special. Appreciate each other for the love you have committed to each other. It’s more than a feeling, it’s a decision. Daily make the decision to love your spouse and get up each day making that same decision!

Not married? The unconditional love given within marriage is a symbolism of the love the Lord has for you. We love others greater when we understand the great love the Father has lavished upon us. Look to the Lord for love, grasp it and give it to others as He has given it to you!
