At some point Solomon gets caught up in the world with women, wealth, and fame. But at this point his eye is on the Shulamite, and her only. She is his image of affection and attraction. He writes, “There are sixty queens And eighty concubines, And virgins without number. My dove, my perfect one, Is the only one, The only one of her mother, The favorite of the one who bore her. The daughters saw her And called her blessed, The queens and the concubines, And they praised her.” Song of Solomon 6:8-9

This should be the same truth in every marriage and relationship. When we make our spouse the image of our affection and attraction it’s sows good seed into our spouse’s heart. It creates a protection from outside temptation, health, and deeper trusting relationship with each other.

Do you consider your spouse as, “I am my beloved’s, And my beloved is mine…” (Song of Solomon 6:3). Continue to look only to your spouse for affection and attraction and watch as your relationship grows deeper with each passing day.

Not married? Keep your focus on the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Watch as you do that all these other things will be added. His timing. His will. His blessing.
