Have you ever taken part in a trust fall? You deliberately fall backwards trusting someone behind you to catch you without looking.

In chapter 4 of Romans, we read examples given to help us understand it is by grace through FAITH we are made righteous. Verses 1-4 and 9-12 cover Abraham being justified by faith. In the middle of those verses, in verses 5-8, Paul quotes King David stating the same thing, the truth of FAITH making one righteous. Followed by an example written with Sarah and Abraham believing in their old age and barren stage that God would fulfill His promise and it was accounted to them again for righteousness.

This is all summarized with these verses, “Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.” Romans 4:23-25

It is by the grace of Jesus through our faith that transforms how we live our life. When we understand what David wrote, ““Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”” (Romans 4:7-8), it affects how we do life, or it should. Walking in faith should transform the way we handle offenses, hurts, pains, tribulations, difficulties, friendships, and relationships. We recognize how blessed we are because of the gift we have been given. It’s a life of trust falls with Jesus being the one that is behind us, and He never fails.
