Whatever it is you are holding onto it isn’t worth it! I have held (sometimes pickup and still do) onto things that do not lead to unity.

Father, this morning I pray that you take any bitterness, frustration, and anger out of my heart towards anyone in the body of Christ. Soften my heart to your goodness and love. I thank you for giving Jesus as an example who forgave those who beat Him and how you forgive me who has sinned against you. Purify my heart and give me clean hands, in Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

As this letter comes to a close, we read, “Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.” Romans 15:5-7

We can spend a lot of energy and time getting offended because someone doesn’t follow Christ the same, we do. When we do, we often can pick up bitterness and frustration towards others. That’s not the heart of the Father towards His kids and it shouldn’t be our heart towards our brothers and sisters. This also can take away from opportunities for us to express the love of Father to those who are spiritually dead.

Remember, “Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.” Romans 15:14

The church in Rome had issues and so do we at times, but don’t let that stop you from encouraging one another, sharing your faith, praying over your family and coworkers, and loving those in the name of Jesus. Live on mission for the precious name of Jesus. He gave it all, let's do the same!
