Providing an opportunity. What opportunity will provide yourself today? What will come first, love for yourself or love for others? It is estimated the average adult makes @35,000 conscious choices a day. That’s a bunch! Wow!

Let’s remember chapter and verses were added to be helpful but Romans is a letter and the original writing of it wouldn’t have had breaks. Moving into chapter 13 the last verse we read in 12 is, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21

I wonder if we could even keep count how many times Jesus could have responded with evil intent to the amount of evil He was shown. My guess is we would lose count quickly. Religious leaders, government officials, even one of the thieves on the cross beside Him treated him with evil intent. Yet Jesus responded in love. We are given the same opportunity as well… to respond in love.

This is another one that I cannot say I always do, but not that I have attained but I press on. We read in chapter 13, “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8

What opportunity will you provide yourself today? Will you respond in the flesh or put on Christ? We read, “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Romans 13:14

What an opportunity awaits for us this day. For there is only one thing you owe anyone… love. If no one told you today… I love you!
