Someone other than me needs to hear this today. Don’t let our standard be any less than kingdom minded.

We read, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14

Press on, forget what is behind and reach forward to those things which are ahead. We are told in Romans 12 our reasonable service is to present our bodies a living sacrifice. We have been equipped to walk in humility as God has dealt us faith. We have been gifted specifically to use those gifts for the kingdom. Told to walk in brotherly love, diligence, rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and steadfast in prayer. Oh yeah… and bless people even when they curse you. Repay no evil with evil and live peacefully with all men as able. And last but not least provide for your enemy.

Sounds like a tough job, maybe you think it’s too much. Setting our mind on Christ as He has done for us enables us to do more than we think we can. Its kingdom minded living. I’m not here to say I have attained this but what I am saying is I’m not looking back at how I have failed in those things but looking forward to the upward call in Christ. We could spin around allowing our experiences to define us or we could press into what the Lord says is possible through Him. Don’t think this as a list of potential failures but a call to kingdom minded living. A call to something more, and it’s our reasonable service to walk in it by His grace and power.
