Change can be difficult! I am not sure I know anyone who loves change. Some change is for the better but even when something new is on the horizon it can be difficult to press through.

Some of the land had already been divided and the land had been subdued before Israel but there remained some tribes who had not received their inheritance.

“But there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance.” Joshua 18:2

So, Joshua challenges them survey the remainder of the land so he can divide it for the seven tribes left without an inheritance.

Conjecture here, but why do you think these tribes sat without land in a place that had already been subdued? What was stopping them? Could it be because this was new for them? They had lived as nomads their whole life and now they were being offered permanent dwellings. Even if it was for the better… it was new… it was change.

Maybe, you have been doing things one way for a very long time. Maybe, you have been at a certain place or had the same routine for months or even years… BUT GOD, has something new on the horizon. Don’t let the fear of change stop you from what He has for you around the corner. Israel may have been stuck in neutral because they were comfortable with how they had been living. BUT GOD was not finished with their progress, and He is not finished with yours or mine either so let’s go after change, even if it’s new or uncomfortable. Press into the Lord and allow Him to lead you through it. Your step of faith in change could lead others who are watching you to do the same.
