Searching and seeking out truth. Wow! This seems harder than ever these days. We are bombarded with media of all sorts from all perspectives that present their truth which later contradicts itself.

Jesus is having a lot of dialogue with people. Reading through the chapter you will noticed at times Jesus talks to people who don’t believe what He is saying and others that do believe His teachings but seem to be struggling to follow Him.  Look at these verses, “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:31-36

Notice, “to those Jews who believed Him”. Then dialogue about knowing truth and truth setting you free followed by the Son (Jesus) making you free, free indeed. They were on the brink of being set free from their sin by choosing to abide in Jesus. In that abiding in Jesus there will be truth(s) we will learn along our journey in life that will set us free. Set us free from old mindsets and lies we have been taught by this world. Entering into a relationship with Christ and abiding (being in relationship) in Him we walk thru this life learning kingdom truths. I am not saying live a blinded life but seeking Jesus and His truth should be more important than seeking truths out of a world that will pass way. Seek the Father and the truth of His Word, He never contradicts Himself.
