Reminders! Chelsea loves to show me pics of past moments. Around our anniversary last year I found our wedding pics. As Chelsea and I looked through them I teared up. I looked over at Chelsea, our eyes met, and what did she do? She giggled at me getting all emotional. :)

A lot has happened with Jesus and the disciples. We can all agree major life-transforming moments had taken place. We are now on the other side of Jesus death, burial, and resurrection. What does Jesus do? He lovingly reminds His disciples of their purpose.

“Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.” (John 21:5-6). Jesus then serves the disciples breakfast, has some conversation with them, and then we read, “And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”” John 21:19

Don’t miss this! This is so beautiful! The first time the disciples met Jesus and recognized Him as the Messiah they were on a boat, just like this. Jesus also told them to put their net in water after a long day of fishing with no catch, just like this. And this was the time He first told them to, “Follow Me.”, just like this.

Jesus knows our hearts. He knows what we need even before we need it. What love?! To use memorable moments to remind the disciples of their purpose in Him. We get to points in our walk with Christ at times where a remainder is just what we need. Don’t be distracted by the cycle of life and miss out on heavenly reminders. He is faithful even if we are found faithless. That’s the Jesus I follow. Not sure who or what you find yourself following today, but if it ain’t Jesus it ain’t worth following.
