I’m not sure about you but I can get caught up in life. My focus turns to what I need to do in the moment, or I need to do later. Even as I write this it’s late and I filled my day up without taking time with the Lord like I should. Like I enjoy! I’m here now though :)… and there’s nothing more important than Jesus!

Remember, Hebrews is written to the church that was immersed in the culture of the Old Testament Scriptures. The writer talks about the high priest’s duties and then speaks about the High Priest, JESUS! Look what is written about Him, “who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:7-9

Jesus prayed and petitioned! It even says tears rolled down His face as He thought about us in our weakness… and… then it says Jesus “learned obedience by the things which He suffered”. He dealt with emotions, thoughts, and feelings just like you and me. He gave up His life freely taking criminal punishment so we could be set free, made whole, saved, sanctified, justified, glorified, healed, transformed, forgiven and at peace. Not because it was about us but because it was about the Father’s will. Jesus learned, have you? What do you fill your days up with? I’m guilty as anyone else at times, I fill my time and thoughts with other things but really, it’s always about Jesus… or it should be. Let’s make today about Jesus in whatever you are doing!

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
