If I asked you to think of a few things people have sacrificed for you, what would be some of the greatest? What about sacrifices you have made on behalf of others?

This letter written to the churches in Galatia is strong to say the least. One of Paul’s strongest statements is said in this chapter, “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?” Galatians 3:1

He goes on to remind them and us today, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),” Galatians 3:13

Do you fully understand what Christ did? We were under a curse but once Christ hung on a tree the curse was obliterated for all those who would put their faith in His sacrifice. No longer under the curse of our past we also were made able to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit.

As great as sacrifices you may have thought of there is nothing, we can sacrifice for each other that could match what Christ has done for us. He willingly suffered a criminal’s death, being free from any guilt, because of His great love for us. May we thank Him for all He has done (not because we have too but because we get too) with how we love Him and love others.
