Go to a news website or read the paper (yes, they still deliver newspapers) and you will find more news that is upsetting than is good for your soul. Of matter of fact, it’s almost as the world trains us to think when our side of things (blue or red, etc.) is reported that’s good news. There is no news of division which is good news.

Then there is you and me, we interact with our families, people over the phone, at our workplace and throughout our community. Did you know you are a walking news site or newspaper? You can call that corny if you want, but you have the good news of the Kingdom of God. What you decide to share is up to you! Look at what Phillip decided to share:

“So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.” So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.” Acts 8:30-35

He preached Jesus beginning from Isaiah. Jesus is the center of the Scriptures. Jesus is the center of our lives. But do people know that? What type of news are you giving off today? There will be times where you sit with someone over the Scriptures and other times where you are living out God’s Word. No matter what we are either sharing the news of this world, or the news of God’s Kingdom. Only one is life giving, the other is life stealing... I don’t always do this myself but today as we read this Scripture, I am reminded that I am a living testimony (story) of the Kingdom of God. That the story I want to share with my words and actions.
