“The longest journey you will ever take is the 18 inches from your head to your heart.” —Andrew Bennett

Paul is sharing to Festus, King Agrippa, and Bernice. Notice he is not defending himself as much as he is trying to win the heart of King Agrippa for Christ.

“To this promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain. For this hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews. Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?” Acts 26:7-8

““Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.” Acts 26:19-20

“King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe.”” Acts 26:27

Paul was speaking to King Agrippa’s heart. Yes, he shared the confirmation of the Scriptures, but Paul knew it had to be more than just head knowledge. Paul challenged King Agrippa’s heart.

It’s the same with us today. The Gospel isn’t just head knowledge, it's a matter of your heart. The Bible says, “even the demons believe and tremble”. Has your belief in Christ altered the way you live your life? Have the devotions of your life and heart changed? Our belief in Christ should change the way we live. The Gospel journey of 18 inches from the head to the heart should challenge the way we believe and the way we live.
