Chess has specific pieces which have specific moves it is designed to make. There is a purpose for each piece. The pieces work in unison for a common goal.
Reading in Acts 18 there are many people that God is partnering with to spread the good news of Christ and disciple: Paul, Timothy, Silas, Aquila, Priscilla, Crispus, and Apollos.
Take notice of a few things:
- While Paul is talking to people about Jesus, he is working a 9-5 (saying that in today’s terms).
- Apollos who had not met Paul at this point is being faithful to travel sharing the Scriptures.
- Aquila & Priscilla were willing to explain more accurately the way of Christ.
This is the body of Christ working together, being in unity for a common goal. Paul would later write, “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:5-9
We have been God-Crafted for His purposes. He didn’t think us up hoping we would fit in somewhere, but for a specific purpose. Use your workplace and position to speak about the goodness of God. Don’t fret your inexperience in the Word of God, share how He has transformed you. Be willing to share in love with those who may not have the full understanding of the Word of God. We are fellow workers in God’s field. Plant, water and let Him give the increase.
