Paul wrote to the church to not quench the Spirit. Instead to, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Psalm 95 is a call to worship! The psalmist reminds us we can harden our hearts before the Lord. Even though the people of Israel saw the work of the Lord they rebelled and hardened their hearts. They found something to complain about instead of something to celebrate.

Buck up buttercup… let’s be creatures of His presence. Some days are hard, we are hard-pressed, or perplexed but… The psalmists say, “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” Psalms 95:2

Look for what to celebrate in the hard times. Look for what to praise the Father for in what the world would call bleak. Look to be a witness of His grace in the middle of dire situations. He has a higher calling for us so let’s walk in it.
