When the Psalmist wrote about those coming against Israel he says, “O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm.” Psalms 83:13-15

At first glance it seems harsh but in that moment who really knows what was in the heart of the psalmist. Continuing to write about his enemies he elaborates, “Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.” Psalms 83:16, 18

We may think this or that person is our enemy but remember it’s the soul of a person that’s important. Our real enemy is Satan. So, if there is a prayer towards someone seemingly believed to be your enemy pray anything that happens to them leads them to SEEK His name, KNOW Him, and WORSHIP the Lord as Most High. Even we were once enemies of the cross. Destined to hell until we were redeemed by the grace of Jesus! Someone prayed for us, let’s be the someone praying for the next.
