Everything in creation has rhythms. As nature is studied the more, we realize of its rhythmic flows. Even though some will not confess, this rhythmic flow is God’s creative design. An example is the tide of the ocean. It can be measured by us today. The ocean does what God created it to do. In essence the ocean waves and tides are obedient to the Lord. All of creation is obedient to the Lord. With His voice the Lord spoke all into existence, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16

What about us? We’ve been created in His image yet some of us choose to worship the created instead of the Creator (Romans 1). The Psalmist records, “I will praise the name of God with a song and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bull, which has horns and hooves. The humble shall see this and be glad; And you who seek God, your hearts shall live. For the Lord hears the poor and does not despise His prisoners. Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.” Psalms 69:30-34

Heaven and earth praise Him, what about you and me? The most praise the Lord can get is His image bearers joyfully living out His story. Our lives are obedient to Him as we represent new life in Him. Question I’m asking myself today: Is my life presenting the good news of Christ to my family, co-workers, friends, and even strangers?
