Red flag! "My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God." Psalms 62:5-7
Sitting on the beach today, I noticed the wind picking up. The lifeguard changed the flag from yellow to red, signaling a warning: "Be careful the conditions are rough." What if we had a similar warning system in our daily lives? A prompt to tread carefully, to proceed with caution when conditions are challenging.
The truth is, we do! God has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us through each moment of the day. The psalmist reminds us, "My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him." Are you giving the Lord space to lead? Are you quieting the noise of the world to listen for the Holy Spirit's gentle prompting? Sometimes, the world's clamor drowns out His voice in my own life, and I find myself pleading, "Lord, speak I'm listening!"
Take time to silence the distractions. Lean in and lend your spiritual ear to the Holy Spirit's guidance. He is faithful to prompt us, the question is, are we listening?
