The sons of Korah oversaw musical worship in the tabernacle during the time of King David and beyond. They would write Psalms of prayers and poetry and set them to worship.

It’s believed these Psalms were written around the time of Absalom rebelling against his father David. Absalom and David had a complicated relationship. David was a great king but had some failures as a father. This just reminds us there is no king like the King of Kings and there is no father like our Father in heaven.

At the end of Psalm 42 & 43 we read a repeated passage, “Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.” Psalms 42:11, 43:5

No matter what is happening in life the truth is we can and should find hope in God. As we praise Him our countenance changes. I’m not sure what you’re going through right now; Division in family or friendships, or maybe the world around seems to be falling apart. My prayer is you recognize where to find hope, or better yet, who to find hope in. No matter the storm may you find hope in the Lord!
