The book of Psalms is so intriguing because we get to view the intimacy of someone sharing their heart with the Lord. Each Psalm takes place in a different season and circumstance in life. They are full of petitions, repentance, praise, and such. These words stick out to me almost every time I read:

“Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah  Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely, they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them. And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.” Psalms 39:4-7

Do you realize life is but vapor? Realizing our days are measured should help us to put into perspective what’s most important. Money will be spent, riches will dwindle, health will falter, and our time on earth will end… so let’s learn more each day to wait on the Lord and put our hope in Him. As we hope in the Lord, He tells us to love Him and love others until His return. So, with each breath we take let’s praise the Lord!
