Yesterday we were challenged to go to the Lord first. To seek the presence of Jesus first, to seek wisdom from Holy Spirit, and to seek love from the Father primarily. Today, we are reminded why:
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalms 121:1-4
You get tired and your body needs sleep. But the Lord who is our help neither sleeps nor slumbers. For you to not be in rest is overtime. How many of us would say we live our lives in overtime hours because we aren’t fully resting in the Lord? Remember, it is the Lord who sits outside of time and isn’t surprised at any of our circumstances. Let’s find rest in His presence, wisdom in His Spirit, and love from the Father.
