“Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; Let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home; He has gone on a long journey;” Proverbs 7:18-19

LOVE! The description of love from the seductress is built upon selfish motivation. But is that really love? Who is being loved in the moment, herself or her husband? Love is not self-seeking or motivated, it doesn’t seek its own.

Yes, love can be romantic, but this love described here isn’t love at all. When we choose to self-satisfy, consider only ourselves, or seek a momentary feeling we only get a momentary delight. Choose to bear with one another. Choose to honor one another. Choose to prefer one another. Choose to be truthful to one another. Choose love! For real love never fails (1 Corinthians 13).

When love is given the way Christ gave… all involved are fulfilled. The choice for us to love is given each day. Will you choose self, or will you choose love? Choose wisely.
