Who doesn’t like a good deal? My mama taught me to be frugal; to get the best deal. Yes, my mama taught me to buy cheap from people, but she didn’t teach me to cheat them.

“It is good for nothing,” cries the buyer; But when he has gone his way, then he boasts.” Proverbs 20:14

“Diverse weights and diverse measures, They are both alike, an abomination to the Lord.” Proverbs 20:10

“Diverse weights are an abomination to the Lord, And dishonest scales are not good.” Proverbs 20:23

In the Lord’s economy when interactions and transactions take place ALL involved are blessed. We’re stewards of “heaven on earth”. So, in our daily dealings treating people fairly presents the goodness of God. If you have to be dishonest to gain the upper hand, is it really worth it? Is that really honoring to the Lord?

Whether exchanging goods or services getting a good deal is being a good steward. But there’s never a reason to be dishonest with others in order to gain the upper hand. Be truthful, be honest, be honorable, and trust the Lord. As you do we steward “heaven on earth” and represent the goodness of God in our interactions and transactions. Let’s live for His glory in all we do!
