Abiding in Christ. John speaks of this multiple times in 1 John and says the effects of one’s life abiding in Christ results in loving like Him.
As we pursue His presence, we’re able to love like Him. As we pursue His Word, we’re able to walk like Him. We read, “My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” Proverbs 2:1-6
In life we’re going to be dealing with people we’ve been called to love and dealing with situations where wisdom is needed. It’s His presence and His Word where we learn to handle these things. There’s no greater source of love and wisdom to release upon the world than from His presence and His Word. Are you pursuing His presence and His Word?
