The refining pot. The furnace. The Lord.
“The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts.” Proverbs 17:3
Do you know what the refining pot is for? What’s the need to put gold in the furnace? As silver is put into the refining pot at extreme high heat the refiner can remove the impurities. As gold is put into the furnace the goldsmith can reshape and increase the value. How much greater are the purposes of the tests of the Lord!
Is there heat (Pressures and situations) in your life right now you’re dealing with? Be encouraged. This season may be tough, but the pressures of life can bring new life, transformation, and a deeper trust in Lord.
Remember a couple things about testing. First, the tester doesn’t help in the middle of test. The teaching has already happened. Now it’s time for the testee to walk out what’s already been taught. Don’t be discouraged if you think you’re not hearing from the Lord. He is ever present. It’s time to see what you know.
Secondly, testing is for the testee not the tester. As you walk thru this test you learn more about yourself. Sometimes impurities arise so you can see what needs to go. Other times you realize how strong the Lord has been making you.
But know this, testing is part of the journey and is used for the Lord’s glory! Don’t be discouraged by the process but be encouraged He is working in and through your life.
