“The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.” Proverbs 13:25

Paul wrote, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Philippians 4:11-12

Paul had learned to be content in whatever state he was in. As he pressed into the Lord his soul was satisfied. He found contentment even when circumstances weren’t favorable. How about us: have we learned to be content no matter the circumstance? Or is our contentment based upon our personal satisfaction?

God is still good. He is still on the throne. Me and your circumstances don’t change anything in the kingdom of heaven. We just need to learn how to be content. As we press into the Lord, He teaches us. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
