A friend sent me a prayer the other day to pray over Chelsea. After praying I realized why the prayer was so powerful.

“He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health… Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:17-18, 25

The prayer contained Scriptures pertaining to the promises of God. I declared truth, promoted spiritual health over Chelsea, and proclaimed a good word from God’s Word as I prayed.

I need to get better at this myself but the best medicine for a tired soul is His presence and His Word. Speaking OUT LOUD what He’s declaring and has declared is powerful, and health and gladness are its fruit. May we know Him and be familiar with His Word!

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16
