Redemption. Restoration. Made New.

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,” Philippians 3:20

What Jesus did on the cross redeemed that which seemed unredeemable, restored that which was in despair, and made new even the most wretched. His finished work on the cross laid the pathway to a new citizenship. Those who belong to Christ fight for a different kingdom.

What about you? There are brand ambassadors for just about anything these days. Yet Christ has made us holy and set apart for His great name and the building of a kingdom where our citizenship lies. Paul said he counted all he had attained as rubbish for Jesus’ sake. His eyes were fixed on Jesus. The writer of Hebrews writes similar, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” Hebrews 12:2-3

Let’s look to Jesus. Let’s count all as lost for His kingdom as we wait eagerly for Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
