Consider for a moment if a co-worker or fellow student, sibling or family member, friend or neighbor was asked about you what they might say. I mean if they had to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Paul is writing to Philemon and he says this about him:   “…. To Philemon our beloved friend and fellow laborer,” Philemon 1:1

“hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,” Philemon 1:5

“For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.” Philemon 1:7

“Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say.” Philemon 1:21

Of course, this isn’t to boast in Philemon but the wonderful work of Holy Spirit in his life. Mentioning also there was much evidence to boast about. Beloved laborer, lover of God and lover of others, refreshing, obedient to the Lord and the church are specifics Paul mentions. What would be included in your letter if one was written? Would it tell about your ministry to spouse, family, and church? Your heart to love others and the Lord? Your refreshing spirit? Your obedience? Would others know the way you live was for God’s glory and because of Holy Spirit’s work in your life? Lots of questions to ask ourselves I know. But good questions indeed to examine our hearts and turn to the Lord with if these things are present. None of these things are possible without spending time with the Father. So, spend time with Him and let His presence change you.

Flourish in fruitful tendencies from a faithful friendship with Father.
