Read this!! Wow!

“‘These you shall present to the Lord at your appointed feasts (besides your vowed offerings and your freewill offerings) as your burnt offerings and your grain offerings, as your drink offerings and your peace offerings.’ ”” Numbers 29:39

If you add up what the Lord commanded Israel to sacrifice yearly you get 1,086 lambs, 113 bulls, 32 rams, more than a ton of flour, and some 1,000 bottles of oil and wine. This doesn’t include personal and household sacrifices that were made as well. Not only did the Lord provide what was physically needed, but also spiritually.

Talking about Jesus John writes, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). Shortly after Jesus would go to the cross for you and me ultimately sacrificing Himself, “whereas Christ, having offered the one sacrifice [the all-sufficient sacrifice of Himself] for sins for all time, sat down [signifying the completion of atonement for sin] at the right hand of God [the position of honor],” Hebrews 10:12

What Israel would need to do on a constant basis Jesus did once and for all. I hope you know this truth. I hope you have put your trust in Jesus’ sacrifice. I hope you understand the gravity of your sin and the hope of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. I hope that leads you to new life in Christ. I hope you walk around with freedom and joy knowing your sins can be forgotten and forgiven or already have been. Turn to Jesus. Talk to Jesus. Live for Jesus.
