The Lord’s economy is much different than the world’s economy.

“Then the Lord said to Aaron: “You shall have no inheritance in their land, nor shall you have any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.” Numbers 18:20

There is no such thing as a self-made millionaire. Everything we produce with comes from the Lord. Whatever wisdom, possessions, resources, and even the breath in our lungs is from the Lord.

The Lord is establishing an economy in this chapter. He commands then to give a tenth of what He had already supplied to Israel. Then He had the priest live off that tenth while also supplying them enough to give a tenth as well. The Lord provided an economy where you gave from your increase, and everyone gave their fair share. No discounts or corrupt system of balances. And you know what? Everyone was provided for and lived a blessed life according to His economy.

The same is for us today! We should be giving the first fruits of our increase. Not what’s leftover but the best of our increase. When we all give a portion whether poor or rich everyone gets taken care of, at least in the Lord’s economy. Are you giving your first fruits? Hey, I’m not judging… I’m accountable for my household and you’re accountable for yours. The Lord designed it, so everyone is taken care of. When we see lack and overindulgence in this world it’s evidence of the world’s influence.

Lastly, just because we see corrupt actions in this world, maybe even in the church doesn’t mean we aren’t responsible to be good stewards of what He’s given us. So be a blessing and be blessed!
