Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…

Israel continued to make bad decisions. Prior to this we see them trying to do things their own way and complaining against Moses and Aaron. Now, 250 men revolt against them. When Moses calls for Dathan and Abiram, they refuse to listen to him. After the Lord handles the situation Israel complains against Moses and Aaron which leads to a plague over the people. What does Moses and Aaron do after this rebellion and complaining?

“Then Aaron took it as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped.” Numbers 16:47-48

They intercede for the people. They make atonement for them. Moses and Aaron weren’t in the wrong yet their heart was to intercede. The people had continued to make bad decisions. They weren’t rejecting Moses and Aaron, they were rejecting the Lord.

Stop! You don’t have to keep doing things your way. You don’t have to keep rebelling against the Lord. Chances are you have someone praying and standing in the gap for you. Jesus stands in the gap. He took the place of our rebelliousness and sin when He shed His innocent blood on the cross. More than what Moses and Aaron could ever do Jesus took it all once and for all. “But this Man (JESUS), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,” Hebrews 10:12

Often our poor decisions have dire consequences (not as bad as they should be). You don’t have to keep making poor decisions. Turn to Jesus today. He makes us overcomers. Spend time with Him and let Him minister to you!
