*A warning for all*
Jesus started His teaching, "Blessed are..." in Matt 5. From there till the end of chapter 7 is one teaching. There's enough in this one teaching for us to learn for years. Then Jesus ends, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock." Matt 7:24
We can listen to teachings for the next 30 years. And applying these teachings is wise. But Jesus warns nearing the end of this teaching, ""Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'" Matt 7:21-23
Be wise. Follow Jesus' teachings. But spend time with the Father. Getting to know Him is what's most important. Besides, knowing Him IS eternal life.
What does your devotional life look like? Read. Study. Do. But make sure to be praying (just talking to the Father).
