To know the Bible is important, indeed. To know Jesus is even more important.

Jesus has been accused falsely and an endured an illegal trial under the night sky by the so-called religious leaders of the day. They bring Jesus to their Roman captures because Jewish people aren’t allowed to punish to death. Judas has realized he’s messed up, “saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” (Matthew 27:4). Even Pilate’s wife recognizes Jesus is innocent, “While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”” (Matthew 27:19). Jesus is then crucified between two criminals and buried in a borrowed grave. A stone is rolled over the entrance and guarded by the Romans.

You can read these Scriptures, recite, memorize, and even teach them. But to know the Father’s love, to experience the grace of Jesus, and to have Holy Spirit living in your life are so much more. Jesus went through this for us even while we were yet sinners. Maybe you have went through some painful things for others but there is no greater love than what Jesus gives. No greater unjust act put forth. No greater sacrifice ever made. So, get to know the Bible, but more importantly get to know Him.
