Jesus enters Jerusalem for the last time and it creates an uproar. The religious leaders also challenge Jesus. As this goes on the disciples are watching, but they're also participating.
I wonder what was going thru the disciple's minds. The electricity had to be strong in the air. Tensions were rising quickly. Expectations of Jesus was at an all time high. In the midst of the uncertainty Jesus makes an unusual request for his disciples to get a colt in the city. "The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats." Matt 21:6-7
I'm encouraged by this. In a similar way in our culture today there are mixed reviews of Jesus. As His return inches closer tensions seem to be rising. We get a similar chance to follow Jesus even in the usual. Jesus also wants us to participate.
As a disciple what are you doing to participate? Pray, ask the Lord how you can follow Him today? It could be praying for someone, checking on a believer or even an unbeliever, or it could be sharing your faith with a complete stranger practically and spiritually. Let today be a day you respond to His voice.
