In my younger days I didn’t read instructions. I would take something out of the box and just go at it, cook the food the way I thought best, etc., etc. How about you… are you an instruction follower?
Jesus is sending His twelve disciples on mission. What did He do before sending them? Instructed them! “These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them:“ Matthew 10:5
What does He instruct? Share the Gospel. Jesus then shares scenarios which would take place. There will be all types of scenarios in our lives as well, but as a follower of Jesus the Gospel should take center stage. We share the Gospel to those we interact with while living thru the ups and downs of life. Think it will be easy? Jesus doesn’t say that, He says, ““Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16
Matthew 28:18-20 gives us the same command to teach others what Jesus has taught us. TO GO… where we live, work, and play… and share the hope of Christ even if it’s not met with great reception. Jesus actually says at times it won’t be received well. But that doesn’t change the mission. Are you following His instructions? Or are you trying to live the way of Christ the way of yourself? It’s not our way, it’s His way. Even when it’s challenging!

Some of you are missing out on the fullness of life and living in the less than… and you don’t even know it. Jesus said, “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25
