Our greatest strength is often where we experience the greatest opposition.

First, let me say there is an enemy of our souls. He is called the “prince of the power of the air” because he is actively deceiving people in this world… and he uses people and their influence to do it. Jesus said he only comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

Jesus is spending His last days with those closest to Him during his ministry. Judas is going to betray Jesus. Peter is going to deny Jesus. And His disciples are going to leave Him at the time of His betrayal. Yet Jesus is lovingly sitting at the table with them, washing their feet, and continuing to teach them about the coming kingdom of heaven.

“So he (Judas) went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money.” Luke 22:4-5

“And a certain servant girl, seeing him (Peter) as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him (Jesus).” But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”” Luke 22:56-57

Judas knew how to handle money well. He handled Jesus’ ministerial finances. Peter was a leader who was outwardly all about Jesus. Their greatest strength is where Satan attacked. Often our strong giftedness is the area we can leave most vulnerable for the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. Be watchful and stay dependent on the Lord even in your areas of giftedness. Your greatest strength often experiences the greatest opposition. And be encouraged that opposition may be revealing to you the strength of your giftedness in the Lord.
