Don't lose heart...
Jesus enters Jerusalem in chapter 19 soon to end His earthy ministry in the physical. His authority is questioned in chapter 20 and now Jesus speaks some heavy words about the coming destruction of Jerusalem. This had to be hard for the disciples to hear. Jesus with authority says, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." Luke 21:33
Jesus then says to the disciples, "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly." Luke 21:34
What do we do when trials arise? What do we think or how do we respond when life is difficult? Jesus would say the same thing He said to His disciples, "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:36
Don't lose heart saint! Jesus faced anything we could ever face. The disciples did as well. Let's set our hearts and minds on Jesus. Let's spend our days talking to Jesus. Let's not let our hope fade nor let our days deter us from worshiping Jesus!
