This chapter begins with the disciples asking Jesus to teach them to pray. Then Jesus is accused of being a demon. Eventually a crowd gathers and Jesus speaks the truth to many knowing their heart.
He began to say, "This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet." Luke 11:29
At a Pharisee's house Jesus challenges them along with some lawyers. He says, "Now the Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness." Luke 11:39
Jesus wasn't afraid to call people out for sin in their lives. He didn't do it from a place of condemnation or hatred, but from a place of love. There are times where Jesus confronted sin in a loving and humble way, and other times He was very direct. His heart and goal was to see repentance.
If Jesus were to chat with you right now what would He have to say to you? Would He need to be direct because you've continued in hard heartedness or would He need to gently correct you? Why not spend time with Him so He can minister to your heart? He knows our hearts and wants to purify our lives. Spend time with Him today!
