Where is the Lord?

We read of dark days in Israel. Abimelech has done wickedness with the support of Shechem. "Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself." Judges 9:5

There's no missing the evil done here and which has continued to be done. Today, there seems to be even more wickedness, but the free will choice of people doesn't determine the goodness of God. Our miniature perspective of all of history (even knowing historical events) doesn't shed light on the totality of life and eternity. What we do see is God's character that's thread thru all of history. Evil happens but good triumphs. Take hope in His promise, "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." (2 Pet 3:9) "and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."" Rev 21:4

Evil's present but the God's kingdom will triumph. Be encouraged!
