Be different than your circumstances!

Israel served the Lord for a season but when leaders pass we continually read, "Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord..." v1. There was corruption and rejection of the Lord in these days.

As the Lord visits Gideon he says to the Lord, "O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian." Jdges 6:13

Gideon heard from generations before of the Lord's doing, but he questioned the difficult days. He wondered where the Lord was. Gideon was from the smallest family of the smallest tribe in Israel and least in the family. But Gideon didn't let his circumstances define him. He was willing. Sure there was a battle with obedience but Gideon obeyed and the Lord did mighty things thru him.

Your circumstance don't have to define you. Are you willing to follow Jesus? Even though we may battle with obedience at times pursuing Jesus always bears fruit. You ready to bear fruit? Pray. Listen. And obey.
