Bros fighting bros...
The depravity of Gibeah had reached a point of no return and justice needed to be served. All the other tribes agreed except the tribe of Benjamin. "Now then, deliver up the men, the worthless fellows in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and remove this wickedness from Israel." But the sons of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the sons of Israel..." Jdges 20:13-14
Infighting. Now Israel were fighting with each other. Don't make a mistake in thinking this was what the Lord wanted. He would desire we would all walk in unity. Jesus even prays about unity in John 17.
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Coming down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard, Coming down upon the edge of his robes." Ps 133:1-2
Is unity a desire of your heart? Of course we will disagree, but going to one another in love to work out disagreements shows the heart of the Lord. Let's quit trying to win others over in the nonessentials and love one another in disagreements. Hard for sure, but we're called and empowered to do so by Holy Spirit. As we do we shard the message of Christ.
