"I got this"... a wise man once told me those were dangerous words to be uttered.
"They said to him, "Be silent, put your hand over your mouth and come with us, and be to us a father and a priest. Is it better for you to be a priest to the house of one man, or to be priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?" The priest's heart was glad, and he took the ephod and household idols and the graven image and went among the people." Judges 18:19-20
This was a time where everyone said, "I got this." They did what they wanted when they wanted to do it. There wasn't a time where they thought, "what would the Lord want us to do." There wasn't a time where they called out to Him for guidance and direction. There wasn't a time where they cried out to the Lord. They were set in, "I got this."
Father, help us to not be like this. As I read I pray if I am wandering in my own ways You would convict my heart to turn to You. Holy Spirit prompt me to follow the ways of the Lord and to travel close to the Father. Refresh my heart for Your ways and Your will Jesus. Amen.
