Father, help us to surrender to You more. Refresh us with Your Word and whisper to us when our hearts and minds are stayed on You.
Joshua had just taken over the reigns of leadership. Israel had been in the wilderness for 40yrs and as Joshua steps into leading he says, "Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are to cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.' " Josh 1:11
Wake up! It's time he says. You've been wandering in the wilderness but now's the time. The Lord tells Joshua to have the priest stand in the Jordan and the waters shall be cut off. Israel had seen this before but this time it wasn't immediate. "the waters which were flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam..." (Josh. 3:16). That city was far away. Their step of faith took time. They had to trust the Lord to do what He said even though they couldn't see it happening in the moment.
Come on, let's trust the Father even when we can't see. Even when we're in the waiting. Put your foot in the water and don't step out, He's faithful so trust Him!
