"his God"

Jonah had messed up. We all can relate. He had made some poor decisions. He had sinned and the consequences had affected not only him but those around him. Now he is literally in the belly of a whale. Jonah doesn't always do the right thing but his heart is right here as he prays to the Lord.

"While I was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple. But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord."" Jonah 2:7, 9

Even before that we read, "Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God..." Jonah 2:1

HIS GOD! Even being in the belly of a whale he understood who he was and who the Lord was. He still turned to Him and worshipped the Lord no matter the situation. We can find ourselves in our own "belly of a whale" situation. What we do in that situation is what's important. Do you question the Lord in times of heartache or trial? Do you still recognize Him as YOUR GOD? Whether of our making or not turning to the Lord and worshiping Him is key. We all get to choose. What or who do you choose to turn to and worship? Speak Holy Spirit, speak!
