Jesus knows. What would Jesus say to you?

Jesus forgives a woman caught in the act of adultery while her accusers are convicted of their own hearts. Jesus then has discussion about Himself being the Messiah.

Multiple times Jesus speaks to the hearts of the folks with no avail. He says,” I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. “(John 8:37). Again, Jesus says,” But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.” (John 8:40).

Can you imagine Jesus looking them closely in their face knowing their intent to murder Him. The intensity of the moment would have been thick. Jesus told them what was in their hearts. And yet they chose to stay in that sin instead of turning to Jesus as He was calling them to do. The chapter ends with Jesus calling Himself the “I AM”. Which in turn they pick up stones to kill Him.

What do we do with the things in our hearts? Maybe today you have bitterness, hatred, desires, or other strongholds in your life. Jesus is calling us out of those things. His desire is for us to let those things go and grab ahold of Him. Are you going to pick up a stone or lay on the Rock? Let’s all choose Jesus our Rock of Salvation. Call out to him. Lay those other things down. Find rest in Jesus.
