Jesus spends time with this lady at the well in the middle of the day. By the end of their conversation, she has come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah all had been waiting on. We read, “From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” John 4:39
There were no recorded miracles done in Samaria. Everywhere else Jesus went they asked for signs and wonders and many still questioned Him. The Bible literally says, “and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.” John 4:42
What does it take for you to believe? I’m not downing signs and wonders but what about believing the Lord for Jesus and the Word? We came to faith when we heard His voice. No matter what happened in the moment of faith it was His voice that changed things. The Bible says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28
Let’s pray to others to hear the voice of the Lord. Let’s pray we can clearly hear His voice. When Jesus speaks things change, people change. We need Jesus to speak. Jesus speak!
