This chapter has the records of two moments. Jesus has a conversation with a Pharisee named Nicodemus about what it means to be born again while at another time there’s a discussion about Jesus being the Messiah.

A conversation happens between John the Baptist and his disciples. This conversation provides important truths for us to hold onto ourselves.

1- We can only receive spiritual things by the Spirit of God.

“John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.” John 3:27

Pray for revelation for yourself and others. Trust the Spirit of God to communicate what’s needed.

2- There is much joy in exalting Jesus. As He increases and we decrease (which means our lives become less about us and more about Jesus) there comes a fullness of joy!

“…So this joy of mine has been made full. He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:29-30

Many times, the absence of joy in our lives is because we have elevated self over our Savior. Who are you living for?

3- The Holy Spirit is NOT limited in our lives. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we get the fullness of the Spirit.

“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.” John 3:34

As Jesus bore witness of His Father the Holy Spirit bears witness of Jesus. We’ve been empowered to bear witness of Jesus as the Holy Spirit has been given to us without measure. Go and do…

- To Know Jesus. To Live on Mission.
